Bigelow, Bruce
An award winning commercial artist, Bruce Bigelow owns his own business, the Sundown Studio, located in the country about 10 minutes from downtown Tupelo, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Kansas University with a major in commercial art and has attended portrait painting workshops given by Daniel Green, Frank Tauriello and Gordon Wetmore, all nationally acclaimed portrait artists. His portraits and other paintings are displayed in numerous north Mississippi homes, and businesses as well as in Oklahoma.
Bruce and his family moved to Tupelo, MS in 1981, where he has successfully managed a freelance art business for over twenty years, serving many furniture manufacturers in the area as well as numerous other businesses. As a graphic artist, Bruce specializes in illustration, design, copy and supervises his work from concept to finished printed piece.
Bruce moves freely between graphic art, fine art, book illustration and as a portrait painter he works with a client to depict a realistic likeness while at the same time capturing a sense of personality and place. Bruce¹s philosophy is that it is absolutely paramount that the painting be an accurate rendition of the person being painted. His landscapes and still life paintings are depicted in a realist style. He feels that most people like to recognize the subject matter when viewing an art work.
During the last few years, Bruce has devoted more time enjoying the art of landscape and still life painting and diligently working to improve as an artist. Bruce exclaims "It's a real joy to see progress in one's work, especially when it's something you love to do."
His latest project is the self publication of a book of his paintings and poetry called "The Passing Scene," available at Reed's Book Store in Tupelo. His poetry has won several awards in the semi-annual Mississippi Poetry Society competitions. He has won numerous painting awards including a first place award at a gallery showing in Corinth, MS, and more recently a second place at an annual exhibit at the The GumTree Museum of Art in Tupelo. In addition a large mural installation painted by Bruce is featured as a part of magazine article about a beautiful southern home in Booneville, MS. The magazine is the January, February 2008 issue of MIDSOUTH magazine.

After studying with Kirk she began to take workshops with other notable professional artists such as Kim English, Robert Johnson, Ray Roberts, David Leffel, Michael Shane Neal and the Plein Air Painters of the Southeast – with landscape artist Roger Dale Brown in particular.

Grammar, Rhonda
I am Rhonda Grammer. I come from Fulton MS where Tom Dulaney, known as Mr. Tom, taught art to grade school students. At that point I was hooked. When I was a little girl my grandparents influenced me to love the beauty of the old ways and old things. As a result, I am attracted to things that make me want to explore the cool underside of an old tree, the dank smell of dirt, or find the old key or jar. These things are exciting to the little girl in me. My favorite subject is animals. I like to do horses and dogs in particular. I specialize in watercolor and pencil drawing. I have no formal training, I have studied with Carolyn Watson, of Tupelo, MS. She is a magnificent watercolorist. Also, I studied under the late Billy Kirk for several years. I have won several awards through the years and my work can be found as far away as England and Spain. I live in Mooreville, MS with my husband of 30 years, Jerry Grammer. We share our lives with a Maltese, Jay, and brilliant Border Collie Trailer and a large tabby cat, Samba.

Pulliam, Linda
Beautiful scenes are unfolding all around us. All we have to do is take time to notice them. Whether it be the intricate patterns of light on a flower, or the long willowy shadows of trees on a lake, my goal as a painter is simply to draw the viewer's attention to some of the things that have given me great pleasure.

Smith, Juanita
Juanita became interested in art in the 1970’s. She finished a paint by number set started by her teen age son. She thought, “There has to be an easier way!” She took oil painting from Frankie Buckly at a local city summer program and she was hooked on painting. Creating scenes in color was magical and mystical to her.
She attended Ole Miss to get her BA in social work while there she minored in art. While working as a social worker she painted sporadically until her retirement in 1998. She was then free to seriously pursue her art.
Juanita is a full time artist living in Tupelo Mississippi. She paints in oil and acrylics, mostly southern scenes and still life. She loves all methods of painting but, impressionism is her goal. She has studied under Billy Kirk, Roger Dale Brown, Dot Courson and John Patochnick. She has won 1st. place and purchase awards in several competitions. Her paintings have been displayed at the Corinth Artist Guild Gallery.

Sutton, Jane
I cannot remember a time when art was not a part of my life. When I was a little girl I was always excited to open a new box of Crayola crayons. Nothing less than the 100 count box would do. All those colors just thrilled me and my creativity flowed freely.
As with many of us though, work and making a living became my priority for most of my adult life. For health reasons however, I was forced to retire from my position as a Patient Representative in the ICU waiting room at NMMC in Tupelo in 2005.
After some healing time and regrouping, I started painting again in 2009. I am self-taught , studying from art instruction books and DVDs but I have also studied under Bart Galloway and Tina Lutz in recent years. I am presently painting with Dot Courson. I paint in acrylics and oils.
I thank God for giving me this talent and His blessing that I am now able to be in my studio to paint and I would love the opportunity to share my work with you!
